Part 1: Police Interaction

People are often surprised to discover that the criminal justice system has very little to do with victims. In fact, most victims have only two interactions with the criminal justice system

  • As victims reporting the crime to authorities.
  • A Victim Impact Statement that is read in court.

While there is a range of ways that a suspect can enter the criminal justice system, the most well-known to the public involves an arrest by police. In this video, a suspect is arrested and transported to the Clackamas County Jail sally port to be admitted to jail.

Remember, you can “look around” in the video as it plays by dragging with your computer mouse or finger!
